Tutoring

The Continuing Education Center offers free peer tutoring and individual consultation for Southern Technical University students. The peer tutors are carefully chosen among students who have developed mastery of content and possess an above-average ability to explain concepts. Our peer tutors concentrate on helping students gain the conceptual understanding which is vital for success in any course.

Study Table Sessions

We offer regularly scheduled study table sessions for many courses, as shown in the schedule below. At these sessions, students study, work together, ask questions and get unstuck with the help of peer tutors. You don’t need an appointment to attend a study table session – just show up!

Individual Tutoring Sessions

For courses that aren’t covered by study table sessions, and for students looking for more or a different type of help than what is offered at the study table, we offer individual tutoring sessions for most introductory classes. Because it can take time to identify and schedule an appropriate tutor to match your request, it usually takes several days to arrange a meeting with an individual tutor.
